A man and a woman pleaded guilty Monday to the robbery of a man who agreed to give them a ride.
Brandon Williams, 26, and Sharita Senior, 30, both pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Williams was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by eight on probation. Senior was sentenced to a year in prison.
The victim was at Little Joe’s Package Store, 306 Sixth St., on Oct. 13, 2010, when Williams and Senior asked him for a ride. The victim thought it odd, but he agreed, said Assistant District Attorney David Helmick.
“Not long after that, they pulled a handgun on him,” Helmick added.
Williams and Senior took the man’s wallet, watch and cell phone, the prosecutor said.
The case would have been a “swearing match” if it’d gone to trial because there were no witnesses to the robbery, Helmick said.
