An 18-year-old high school student with three children pleaded guilty Monday to burglary in Muscogee County Superior Court.
Grant was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by eight years’ probation, for the Nov. 29, 2010, burglary.
Desmond Grant admitted to breaking into an Old Cusseta Road apartment and taking a TV. Grant dropped the television as he carried it outside and then fled with another suspect in a SUV, Assistant District Attorney Wesley Lambertus said.
A witness saw the SUV and pointed it out to police, who then stopped the vehicle. Grant and another man were found inside, Lambertus added.

Superior Court Judge Gil McBride sentenced Grant as a first offender. If Grant successfully completes his probation, a conviction will not appear on his record.
McBride also ordered Grant to report to a child support worker after his release.
