A Tuesday night fire caused extensive damage to a Midland Road home in Columbus, though no one was injured, fire officials said.
Columbus Fire & EMS responded about 9:15 p.m. to the blaze at 8009 Midland Road, in the county’s panhandle, said fire Capt. Ricky Fisher.
“When I got there, (the flames) were probably about 10-12 feet,” Fisher added.
It took firefighters about 40 minutes to control the blaze. No one was inside the home at the time, Fisher said.
No other structures were damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the captain said.
