Everyone wants a deal, especially on admission tickets to Six Flags Over Georgia, 275 Riverside Parkway, Austell, Ga. As the theme park opens on March 17, it will be celebrating its 45th season and everyone who brings six or more nonperishable food items can get in for $19.67. The significance to the ticket price? The park opened in 1967.

Suggested food items include canned meats, dry milk, beans and canned fruits and vegetables.
The park will also give the first 1,045 people in the gates on March 17 a free commemorative ticket to return on June 16 for the official 45th anniversary celebration.

There are new shows this year, including iLuminate, a dance show that features state-of-the-art costumes that light up and visual effects in the dark.
Two other new shows are Pop 40, a musical showcase of hits from the 1970s until now. Rhythm & Grooves is a music show that features the music of legends like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin.
The park will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. March 17 and 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. March 18. The park will be open on weekends until May 25, though it will be open daily during spring break, March 31-April 8.
The normal admission fee is $54.99.
