Quintin Elijah Palmer, convicted Thursday of the attempted rape, child molestation and false imprisonment of a 12-year-old girl, must wait at least another month before he’s sentenced for his crimes.
Palmer, 17, was scheduled to be sentenced Friday afternoon, but defense attorney Stacey Jackson asked the judge for a pre-sentence investigation before passing sentence. Superior Court Judge Gil McBride agreed and postponed the sentencing until April.
Palmer will remain in jail pending his sentencing.
Jurors found that Palmer molested a 12-year-old girl inside an old concession stand at Belvedere Park on Oct. 15. They acquitted him on charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, enticing a child for indecent purposes and attempted aggravated sodomy.
