Columbus police arrested a woman Sunday morning after she admitted to stabbing the father of their children in his back, reports state.
Carmen Butler, 27, faces one count of aggravated assault, police said.
According to police, Butler was arguing about 9:30 a.m. with the 29-year-old father of their five children inside his Creek Way apartment. The man then picked up a TV and began walking to his car when Butler came up behind him and stabbed him in the lower back with a kitchen knife.
Police then responded to the apartment, reports show.
“She admitted after being advised of her rights to stabbing him but stated that she was just/meant to poke him; not stab him with the knife,” police state.
Officers recovered the knife and took Butler to the Muscogee County Jail, police said.
