A man accused of peeping Tom, battery and assault pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the charges and was sentenced to six months in jail, followed by 5 1/2 years’ probation.
Tarus Walton was 27 years old in July when a woman saw him looking into her window at her Armour Road home. She then went to her back porch and told him to leave, police said.
Walton refused to move at first. Moments later, he threw his fist at the woman, Assistant District Attorney Brad Bickerstaff said on Tuesday.
Another man told police he saw Walton looking into the window and saw him try to hit the woman. That man then intervened.
Walton then kicked the man in the thigh. A fight ensued and the man was able to subdue Walton, Bickerstaff said.
The man said when he let Walton go, Walton went to his residence across the yard. Walton later was taken to The Medical Center, where he was treated and evaluated. He was then charged, police said.
