Georgia will offer a sales tax holiday for WaterSense Products and ENERGYSTAR Products Oct. 5-7.
The holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 5 and continues through 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 7.
The purchase of WaterSense labeled products will be exempt from state and local sales taxes, if the item costs no more than $1,500.

Scottish Rite produces "Sylvia"
The Scottish Rite of Columbus announces its first production for fall 2012 -- the comedy/drama "Sylvia," written by A.R. Gurney and first produced on Broadway in 1995.
"Sylvia" is about a couple whose kids have gone to college. They move into an apartment in Manhattan, and soon the husband finds the titular stray dog in the park. He brings her home, much to the consternation of his wife. The husband starts doting too much on the dog and forces crises in his career and his marriage. By play's end, he has to make a choice between his dog and his wife.
The play is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sunday; 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and 6 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7. Doors are open one hour before each performance. The theater is located at 1027 Second Avenue, next door to the Springer Opera House. Admission is $10 at the door, but tickets can be purchased in advance with reservations.
