A suspect wanted in the April fatal shooting of a man near Lawyers Lane and Seventh Street has been arrested, authorities said.
Oscar Senior, 31, is charged with murder, aggravated assault and simple battery, Muscogee County Jail officials said. Police say he’s accused in the April 13 homicide of Charles Willis III, 31.
Senior was arrested Thursday. He’s scheduled to appear Saturday in Columbus Recorder’s Court on the murder charge, jail officials said.
According to police, the shooting happened about 5 p.m. April 13 as Willis was stopped in his car with a male passenger. Willis called out to Senior, who was standing in the street. Senior then fired into Willis’ 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt.
The passenger told officers he opened his door and rolled out of the vehicle to avoid the gunfire. Willis, however, was struck at least once. Senior then ran from the scene, police have said.
