A Columbus woman who was struck by a car on Thursday has died.
Amber Salter, 23, was pronounced dead at The Medical Center at 2 p.m. Saturday, Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley said Sunday.
He said the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Salter was taken to The Medical Center immediately after the incident last week.
According to police, Salter was walking north across Manchester Expressway near Rosemont Drive when she was struck by an eastbound Dodge Challenger about 8 a.m.
The impact left the woman's shoes and hat scattered in the street.
Morning traffic was slowed to one lane on the three-lane street while patrol officers investigated.
Police said the Challenger was driven by Sonya Liebendorfer, 47, of Columbus.
Police seized the Challenger, which had damage to its right front side.
No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
