A man reported to Columbus police that his 1988 maroon Ford F-150 truck valued at about $2,500 was stolen Saturday between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. from the parking lot of the Liberty Gas Station on Avalon Road.
According to the police report, the man had been in the building for about 30 minutes and when he came out, the vehicle was gone.
He told police that whoever took the truck must have been familiar with it because the key in the ignition does not make contact and the truck has to be started by using a toggle switch and push button.
Police found no witnesses.
