A man in his 20s robbed a 53-year-old woman who uses a walker as she was counting her cash alongside Andrews Road early Sunday, Columbus police reported.
The woman who lives on Henry Avenue said she was walking from a friend's Melon Street home about 20 minutes after midnight and was about to go by a Circle K when she stopped at Normandie Road to count her money.
She found she had $25 in the form of one $10, one $5 bill and 10 $1 bills, but once she revealed she was holding cash, she did not have it for long.
A young man coming from her right snatched the money from her hands and ran north on Andrews Road. She described him as black, 23 years old, 5 foot 3, 140 pounds, wearing a thick black jacket and jeans. She also said he had a dark complexion and a short afro hairstyle.
Twenty minutes later, she reported the robbery to a police officer at the 3010 Buena Vista Road Circle K, police said.
