Columbus police officers wearing hazardous materials suits discovered a plastic bag with the remains of a portable methamphetamine lab in a dumpster behind a flooring company on the corner of 44th Street and Meritas Dr. Saturday.
Cold tablets, stripped lithium batteries and other ingredients were found, along with the plastic soda bottle that was used to make the drug, according to officials on the scene.
The Columbus Fire & Rescue Hazardous Materials Unit were on the scene to decontaminate the officers' suits, and supervise the removal of the hazardous materials. The small business is not implicated in the discovery, officials said.
