Update (Thursday, 12:09 p.m.):
Two men faced charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during an 8 a.m. Recorder's Court Hearing Thursday.
Carlton Anderson, 31, and Anthony Medlock, 31, were accused of possession of more than $4,000 worth of cocaine after they were arrested Tuesday at the intersection of Buena Vista Road and Brown Avenue.
Officers told Judge Michael Cielinski that the car was stopped after police noticed that passenger Medlock was not wearing his seat belt and that the car, which was driven by Anderson, was changing lanes in heavy traffic without signaling. After the car was stopped, Anderson allegedly pushed the officer away and attempted to punch him. He ran, but was apprehended a short distance away.
After a police dog entered the car and indicated the presence of narcotics, police searched the vehicle. Two bags of cocaine, one in the pocket of the driver-side door and one between the center console and the passenger seat were found. The total weight of the cocaine was 43.9 grams, which was valued at $4,390.
Police also found 3.3 grams of marijuana while searching the suspects and the vehicle.
Neither Medlock nor Anderson claimed the narcotics. A pistol loaded with five rounds was also found between one of the seats and the center console. Both suspects denied ownership of the gun, as well.
Anderson was charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers, possession of cocaine, possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime, concealing license plate, driving while license is suspended, possession of marijuana and improper lane change.
Cielinski set Anderson's bond at $25,750.
Medlock was charged with a seat belt violation, possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine. His bond was set at $15,500.
Both cases will be forward to the Muscogee County Superior Court.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle at about 2:30 p.m. after noticing passenger Anthony Medlock, 31, was not wearing a seat belt. When an officer approached the vehicle, the driver pushed the officer away and attempted to punch him. He then ran but was apprehended a short distance away.
A police dog later alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. Police found two bags of suspected powder cocaine, weighing a total of 43.9 grams and valued at $4,390. Two bags of suspected marijuana with a total weight of 3.3 grams were also found.
A further search of the vehicle revealed a pistol and five bullets.
Medlock was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Anthony Medlock pushed and punched an officer. Driver Carlton Anderson allegedly punched the officer before running. Medlock was a passenger in the vehicle. The Ledger-Enquirer regrets the error.
