Two men were arrested on drug related charges Wednesday morning after they were stopped for a broken tag light, according to a Columbus Police Department report.
Police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Baker Circle and Brooks Road at about 12:10 a.m. after noticing a broken tail light. When police spoke with driver Christopher Williams, 29, the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana.
After putting Williams in custody so the vehicle could be searched, the officer noticed the other occupant, 30-year-old Michael Doleman fidgeting with something near the left rear passenger door. When the officer opened the door, he found a clear plastic bag containing 1.8 grams of marijuana in between the seat and the left rear passenger door. A grinder was also found in the center console.
Doleman was charged with possession of marijuana. Williams was given a tag light violation notice and charged with drug related object.
Both were transported to Muscogee County Jail.
