A homeless man was arrested at the Columbus Police Department Monday after police discovered outstanding warrants and a small amount of crack cocaine in the man's possession, according to a Columbus Police report.
Jeffery Gordon, 55, came to the station at about 2 p.m. for a homeless shelter clearance. When an officer ran his name through a database, police discovered Gordon had outstanding warrants with the Columbus police.
After placing Gordon in custody, officers found a small metal cylinder which held three small rocks of crack cocaine. The total weight of the drug was .5 grams.
Gordon was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and crossing the guard line with controlled substances. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
