Columbus police arrested 54-year-old Bonnie Huling Sunday and charged him with possession of a sawed off shotgun.
He was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, concealing the serial number of a weapon, and disorderly while intoxicated.
According to the police report, officers arrived at a residence at 4815 13th Avenue after it was reported that a person was waving a weapon at persons walking by the residence..
Officers say they went to the front door and the screen door was locked. They then walked to the south side of the residence, knocked on a window sill and announced several times that they were police.
Officers say that while knocking on the window sill, the glass window closest to them shattered loudly and the inside curtain pushed through the window.
Believing that the person inside had fired a round, they backed away from the residence and gave verbal commands for the person inside to exit the building.
It was about a minute later that Huling came out the front door with his hands above his head. At first, Huling lowered his right hand and placed it in his front right pocket but then raised it above his head again.
