A man and woman were arrested Wednesday morning and charged with soliciting sodomy and prostitution after driving without headlights near Buena Vista Road, according to a Muscogee County Sheriff's Office report.
A deputy was patrolling on Buena Vista Road at about 2 a.m. when he noticed a white Honda Accord with no headlights on. The vehicle was stopped on Andrews Road near Buena Vista Road.
When the deputy approached the driver, 55-year-old Keith Brown said the car was new and he was unsure how to work the lights. Brown was accompanied by Tiarra Wofford, 30, who did not have any identification on her at the time.
The deputy discovered after checking Brown's license that it was suspended in April for a failure to appear.
While checking for warrants on Wofford, the deputy discovered she had prior convictions for prostitution. The deputy asked Wofford how she knew Brown and what she was doing with him. She said she had known him for about one year and that he had picked her up to go get her $20 he owed her for babysitting services.
Brown was placed in custody for driving with a suspended license. During questioning, he told the deputy that he knew Wofford from "just seeing her around" and that he had picked her up to give her a ride home. He said he did not owe her any money for babysitting and that "she was lying about that.
The deputy questioned Wofford again, at which time she told him that Brown gave her $20 for oral sex, but the act had not yet been performed. She was placed in custody after relinquishing the $20 she received from Brown to the deputy.
Brown was charged with solicitation of sodomy, no headlights and driving while license is suspended. Wofford was charged with prostitution.
Both were transported to the Muscogee County Jail.
