Troup County Sheriff's Office Drug Agents nabbed almost 40 marijuana plants during a sting conducted Wednesday, according to a press release.
At about 3 p.m. Wednesday, agents assisting the Governor's Drug Task Force were flying the Troup County area looking for outdoor marijuana farms. During the fly-over, agents found several plants growing in a wooded area off of Tucker Circle.
When ground units responded to the location, they found seven marijuana plants. Agents also discovered that the subject growing the marijuana potentially lived at 188 Cannonville Road in LaGrange.
Officers found several additional plants growing in wooded areas behind the residence when they flew over.

After receiving a search warrant at about, the agents searched 57-year-old Kenneth Palmer's home and land. Officers found two bags of marijuana and seven firearms in the residence. They also found 32 marijuana plants growing in several locations behind the residence.
A shotgun was found in Palmer's truck.
Palmer was arrested and transported to the Troup County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possess of a firearm by a convicted felon.
