Glamorous Lane, 52, faced charges of aggravated child molestation and another sex-crime related charge Monday in Recorder's Court. His case was heard by Judge Michael Cielinski during a 9 a.m. hearing.
Detectives told the court that police began investigating Lane's case in June when they received tips that he might be abusing a 13-year-old girl to whom he has close access. When police investigated further, the 13-year-old told them that Lane touches her "in a bad way."
The 13-year-old told police that the abuse began when she was in fourth grade. In some incidents, the girl said she would wake up unclothed with Lane hovering over her. A detective said during one incident, when the girl asked why Lane was hurting her, he said "I'm doing this to love you and to teach you."
A 15-year-old witness told investigators she had seen Lane performing sexual acts on the 13-year-old several times. In some instances, the 15-year-old saw Lane sleep with the 13-year-old in her bedroom. Other times, Lane allegedly made the 13-year-old watch pornographic films, which the witness said Lane called "love movies."
Never miss a local story.
Both the 15-year-old witness and the 13-year-old were given a medical exam. During the exam, investigators found evidence of sexual trauma in the 13-year-old.
The 13-year-old's mother denied all charges. She was not present during the hearing.
The 13-year-old and the witness said no incidents of molestation had taken place since Feb. 2.
Detectives also said that the molestation had been reported in May to the Department of Family and Children Services, but no one had followed up on the case.
Lane was given no bond on his aggravated child molestation charge and a $50,000 bond on the other charge.
