A woman faced charges of possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute Wednesday morning during a Recorder's Court hearing.
Becky Frazier, 49, faced charges of possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, drugs not in original container, and possession of drug related objects during a 9 a.m. hearing. Her case was heard by Judge Michael Cielinski.
An officer told the court that he stopped Frazier near the intersection of Oates Avenue and Wilton Street at about 2:45 p.m., after he noticed that she was driving her 2002 Pontiac Montana with a paper tag that had a handwritten date.
When he approached her, she seemed visibly nervous and was shaking. He asked her if she had anything illegal in the car. She said no, and consented to a search of the vehicle.
During the search, the officer found six oxycodone and two Xanax's of different strengths. Frazier claimed to have a prescription for both medications. When the officer called her doctor to confirm, he said she did have a prescription for the Xanax, but not for the oxycodone.
Frazier told the officer that she was on her way to meet a friend so that she could sell the oxycodone. She also provided texts from her cell phone that indicated she was intending to sell the medication.
Frazier was arrested and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
Cielinski noted during the hearing that Frazier had previously received similar charges. He set her bond at $10,500. Her case will be forwarded to Muscogee County Superior Court.
