Police apprehended a Phenix City, Ala. man near Donald Drive Wednesday who they report was planning to sell $2,000 of methamphetamine, according to a Columbus Police report.
Brannon Lee Avery was stopped near the intersection of Glenview Drive and Donald Drive for failing to use a proper turn signal. For a while, Avery seemed to attempt to elude officers and refused to pull over. This led to a fleeing to elude police charge.
When police searched the vehicle, they found three plastic bags collectively containing 20 grams of meth.
Avery was charged with possession of meth with intent to sell, in addition to the aforementioned charges. The Muscogee County Jail website lists Avery as charged with stalking, false imprisonment and violation of probation in a separate case.
He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
