Look closely and you'll see the Chattahoochee Valley in a "Need for Speed" movie trailer released Sept. 25.
Crews visited our area in June to film scenes for the movie, which stars Michael Keaton, Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper. It's scheduled to be released in March 2014.
As part of a climactic scene for “Need for Speed,” a car was set on fire on the Phenix City side of the 13th Street Bridge and thrown over onto the rocks south of the bridge.
“Need for Speed" is a DreamWorks Production film based on a popular video game.
In addition to the 13th Street Bridge scene, crews also shot local scenes on Manchester Expressway and Interstate 185, going south toward Victory Drive. Locally filmed scenes will portray rural New York in the movie.
"Need for Speed” filmed scenes in other Georgia cities, including Macon and Rome.
