Failure to wear a seat belt landed one woman in jail after she was charged with possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, according to a Columbus Police report.
An officer pulled over Kelly Salyers, 27, at the intersection of 35th and Fourth Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. While the officer was speaking with her, Salyers allegedly continued reaching toward the center of her car. The officer told her to stop, and when she wouldn't, she was detained.
The officer found a gram of meth in the car when he searched it. He also found a glass smoking pipe and a digital scale.
The meth was valued at $100.
Salyers was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug related objects, in addition to a seat belt violation. She was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
Jail representatives say Salyers is listed as both Kelly Matthews and Kelly Salyers in their databases. No explanation was immediately available.
