Marvin Coppins claims the drugs probation officers found on his night stand belonged not to him, but to a friend, police said during Wednesday morning Recorder's Court hearing.
Coppins, 32, faced possession of marijuana, crack cocaine and ecstasy charges during the hearing.
An officer described how Coppins was arrested after officers searched his 1100 block 43rd Street apartment Tuesday afternoon during a probation check. Next to his bed, they found two ecstasy tablets, 0.5 grams of marijuana and 0.5 grams of crack cocaine.
When asked about the drugs, Coppins told police a woman had stayed with him the night before. He claimed she had left the drugs.
