A Phenix City man Arthur J. Holt Jr., 26, is dead, the result of an early morning shooting Sunday.
Muscogee County Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley said Holt was shot several times.

Never miss a local story.
Lt. J.R. McMichael of the Columbus Police Department's Robbery and Homicide Division said officers received a call about the shooting at 2:20 a.m. and responded. They found Holt suffering from gunshot wounds and he was taken by EMS to the hospital.
McMichael said the shooting took place on a deck of the Hardaway Building Parking Garage located at the corner of 10th Street and Front Avenue.
McMichael said there are some leads.
According to a Columbus Police report, a second victim who was uninjured during the incident told police the suspect shot at him. He described the man as a black man in his 20s with a light complexion, small beard and a low hair cut.
Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson said police are checking to see if there is a connection between an altercation outside of Mario's Restaurant on Broadway and this shooting which took place later.
She said she had been hopeful to get through the year without another homicide and that any number of homicides is too many for Columbus.
"Every single murder is unacceptable to us," Tomlinson said.
She could not remember another taking place in the "uptown area" this year.
Counting the death of Muscogee County Jail inmate Isaac Kindred, this is the city's 22nd homicide of the year.
There are now seven Columbus homicides that are unsolved.
Other murders still being investigated are those of Brittany Patrice Jenkins, Andy Phillip Vashun Ramsey, Shannon Fields, Kristan Blake Dozier, and Brenda Lowe.
Anyone with information about any of the homicides should call police at 706-653-3400
