A woman was arrested for Schedule II drug possession Tuesday after police stopped her for an expired tag near Whitesville Road, according to a Columbus Police report.
Leslie E. Edge, 37, was additionally charged with no state driver's license, no proof of insurance and suspended registration after the officer stopped her near the intersection of Whitesville Road and Grove Park Drive at about 8:45 a.m., Tuesday.
The officer told Edge shortly after the stop that because her tag registration was suspended, due to lack of insurance, she would have to get the car towed. She allegedly told the officer that she couldn't get in touch with the vehicle's owner, but that the car could be towed because "it's a piece of crap."
After Edge gave the officer permission to have the car towed, he asked if he could search the vehicle. He found several shell casings in the vehicle while searching it, and asked Edge if she had any weapons on her. She said she had some knives on her, which the officer asked her to remove from her purse.

While she was removing the weapons, she took out a pill bottle with several blue and white pills. The blue pills were later identified as Xanax. The white pills were not identified in the report.
Edge was arrested and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
