A 19-year-old girl living at 20th Street's Twin Cedars Second Chance Home was allegedly kicked and punched by another girl dwelling in the facility for teen mothers Sunday, according to a Columbus Police report.
The victim told police that a 17 year old girl kicked and struck her in the face at about 8:30 p.m. She had swelling to her forehead and a small laceration, according to the report.
The report did not state whether the 19-year-old mother was pregnant. No children were involved at the time of the report.
No arrests were made at the time of the report. The 17-year-old girl is listed as a suspect. She is wanted for battery.
Twin Cedars is one of two facilities in Georgia that serves teen mothers who are at risk for abuse. It aims to reduce repeat pregnancies among teen mothers, ensure that teens have access to education and are able to start economically stable families.
