There is no dollar amount set as a goal for the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon taking place Thursday and Friday on station Kissin 99.3.
“We just want to raise as much money as we possibly can,” said PMB Broadcasting operations manager Dave Arwood.
The event, which raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., will be on the air from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
People can pledge a donation by calling 1-800-789-2044.
Arwood said those who wish to make a donation can go to website kissin993.com at any time.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other deadly childhood diseases.
“Over the years we’ve heard so many positive and inspiring stories during our radiothon,” said radio personality Bear O’Brian. “Our listeners always amaze us- year after year helping us to raise money to help children battling cancer and other deadly diseases at St. Jude and in our community right here in Columbus.”
Not only did Columbus-area volunteers jump at the opportunity to get involved, but local businesses also want to show their support.
According to a press release, Banner Buildings of Columbus will donate $50 of every building sold to St. Jude during the week of the radiothon and Smart Cookie Learning Center will donate $100 for every new enrollment during radiothon week.
Restaurants Zaxby’s and Chili’s are also showing their support by providing incentives for the donors and meals for volunteers.
