According to a Columbus Police report, Tiffany Simpson's failure to wear a seat belt after leaving her drug dealer led to her arrest.
Simpson, 27, was pulled over at the intersection of 38th Street and Second Avenue Wednesday evening after an officer noticed she wasn't wearing her seat belt. The report states that as the officer approached the vehicle, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. His suspicion grew after speaking with Simpson, who seemed nervous.
When the officer asked Simpson to get out of the car, he noticed a bulge in her pants pocket. After discovering eight grams of marijuana in her pocket, Simpson told the officer that she had just picked up the drug on Fourth Avenue, according to the report.
Simpson was charged with possession of marijuana. She was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
