Columbus police are looking for a man who used a fake identification to obtain a car loan valued at more than $9,000 from Kinetic Credit Union.
Police said a man opened an account at the 4811 Bankers Blvd. location at the Peachtree Mall branch in January. The man provided proof of residency and information from an employer.
Sometime after opening the account, the man applied for and received a vehicle loan valued at $9,262. Officials later learned that the man’s address and employment information were false.
The man submitted a fraudulent bill of sale from Alabama to the credit union. Calls to the thief have gone unanswered as the police investigation continues.
