An Alabama State Trooper was shot Saturday but the wounds were not life threatening.
Two suspects were also shot.
According to an official report, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Geneva County 57. A brief pursuit ensued and ended when the suspect’s vehicle stopped abruptly and the suspect opened fired on the trooper and shot him.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. A second suspect fled into the woods but was captured a short time later.
The trooper was transported to Flowers Hospital, treated and released.
The suspects, Zachary Taylor Wood, 23, of Glenwood, Ala. and Dillon Scott Rafsky, 21, of Enterprise, Ala., were also transported to area hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Upon release, they were transported to the Geneva County Jail. Alabama State Troopers charged them with attempted murder.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI), the investigative division of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, is investigating.
