Columbus received some storm damage Monday night, but nothing like east Alabama.
The city of Columbus received 70 calls Tuesday about downed trees or limbs, Public Works Director Pat Biegler said. Eight crews worked the calls all day, primarily clearing roads.
“There was no major damage we’re aware of,” Biegler said.
All roads had been cleared by late Tuesday, and she expects crews to turn to cleanup today.
Biegler said city leaders held an emergency briefing Tuesday afternoon and were told that Columbus should not get the kind of wind and rain it got Monday night.
City crews were on standby Tuesday night to respond if needed.
