Jeramiah Levi Sokolgz, one of two suspects accused in the beating death of a Seale, Ala., man was transferred to the Russell County Jail on Monday after his Saturday arrest in Columbus, authorities said Thursday.
Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said Sokolgz, 24, returned on Monday to face the capital murder charge in the death of Eric Tunnell Anderson who was found slain April 22 at his 150 Avalon Circle mobile home. He was taken into custody without incident about 4 p.m. Saturday after the Greyhound bus he was riding arrived from Atlanta.
“We got him back,” Taylor said. “He is in the county jail and everything is running smooth.”
Anthony Lavell Carter, 18, was the first suspect arrested in the homicide. He was apprehended around 1 a.m. April 25 at his Seminole Trail home in Fort Mitchell, Ala. He is charged with one count of murder in the death of Anderson.
Bond was set at $500,000 for Carter and Sokolgz is held on $1 million at the jail.
