Green Island Country Club general manager Blais receives accreditation
Jeffrey J. Blais, general manager of Green Island Country Club in Columbus, has been accredited with the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation by the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA).
The CCE designation was developed to recognize those managers who have shown the ability to successfully serve as the most senior manager in a club. It augments the hallmark of professionalism, the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. Blais earned the latter in 2007.
Qualifications for the CCE include being a member of the CMAA, achieving their CCM designation and admission to the CMAA Honor Society, while also completing Business Management Institutes IV and V. The recipient also has to have served as the top executive in a club for a minimum of five years (can be from multiple clubs).
Blais has overseen the operations of Green Island Country Club for over 10 years.
The Club Managers Association of America has nearly 6,500 members. Those members run more than 3,500 country, golf, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs nationwide.
Columbus attorney Land becomes life member of legal forum
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum has certified Columbus attorney Benjamin A. Land as a life member for that forum, as well as the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum recognizes U.S. trial lawyers who have won or settled cases for at least $1 million. The Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum requires a case be won or settled for $2 million or more.
Founded in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum has about 4,000 members, which is fewer than 1 percent of attorneys in the nation. It recognizes excellence and serves as a national network for referral and information for trial lawyers litigating major cases.
Land is a University of Georgia School of Law graduate. His practice primarily focuses on civil legal cases for individuals injured by the negligence of others.
