OZARK, Ala. -- The Chattahoochee Valley-Alabama Southern game on Wednesday was suspended when a heavy storm hit Eagle Stadium just as the first inning was ending.
The Alabama Community College Conference (Region 22 tournament) game will be completed at 3 p.m. Thursday. It will start with Alabama Southern coming to bat in the top of the second. There is no score.
CVCC is undefeated in the tournament, so the No. 1 Pirates need to win just once to advance to the JUCO world series in Grand Junction, Colorado, later this month. Alabama Southern would need to beat CVCC twice.
The championship game is a rematch of Monday's 8-7 win by CVCC. The Pirates scored four in the bottom of the ninth to rally for the win. Jared Martin hit a bases-loaded double, driving in all three runners, to complete the comeback.
