An Opelika, Ala., man is accused in the theft of nearly $6,000 in guns from a home on Lee Road 44, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Jacob Dalton Lewis, 21, faces one count each of burglary in the third degree, theft of property third degree and receiving stolen property first degree. He is held on $5,000 bond in the Lee County Detention Facility.
The charges stem from a July 17 burglary in the 2300 block of Lee Road 44 in Opelika. Someone broke into the home and took eight guns valued at $5,868.
Investigators have recovered one stolen gun and the search continues for more weapons, authorities said.
