A woman and her boyfriend pleaded guilty in the 2010 murder of Kathlene Lucile Landino of Valley, Ala., authorities said Tuesday.
John Bradley Limes and Leslie Lea King both pleaded guilty before Judge Steve Perryman of the 5th Judicial Circuit, Police Maj. Mike Reynolds said in a statement. Both were sentenced to life without the possibility of parole to a charge of capital murder during the commission of a robbery.
The body of Landino was found by her son, Todd King, on Nov. 23, 2010, when he returned home from work. His mother had been stabbed and bludgeoned to death.
Leslie King, Todd King’s estranged wife, was immediately suspected in the death along with Limes, her boyfriend. Both were taken into custody the next day in Phenix City.
When arrested, they were in possession of several pieces of Landino’s property. The pair was returned to the Valley Police Department where both confessed to murder and robbery.
