Columbus State split a doubleheader against Georgia Regents on Saturday, winning the opener 6-3 before losing 7-5. The loss in the second game snapped a nine-game winning streak.
In Game 1, CSU had to rally from an early 3-0 hole.
Dustin Averett singled in a run in the bottom of the third, and the Cougars added a pair of unearned runs in the fourth to tie the game.
Jackson Oliver singled in a run, and Mike McClellan hit a two-run homer in a three-run sixth to give CSU the lead.
Jake Ezell (6-1) earned the win, allowing three runs -- two earned-- on five hits in six innings. Caden Fergsuon allowed just one hit over the final three innings for his first save.
Kevin Manos hit a pair of solo homers for the Cougars in Game 2.
CSU (32-12, 15-11 Peach Belt Conference) hosts Valdosta State at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
