The first Get Fit Expo will have something for every fitness level. Whether you’re thinking about a lifestyle change, want to change your workout routine or need nutritional information, Saturday’s event will feature a little bit of all of that.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Columbus Civic Center, 400 Fourth St., folks are invited to check out a wide variety of classes, product samples and healthy eating demonstrations.
“The Get Fit Expo is the first of its kind in Columbus,” said Sara Douglass, event and engagement manager for the Ledger-Enquirer. “Patrons will be able to visit with instructors, participate in classes, check out healthy eating demos and discover more about health and wellness in general from health care professionals as well as those in the fitness realm.”
Some classes include yoga, kids fitness, Parkour, zumba, Bokwa, Crossfit, circuit training and more.
Never miss a local story.
Tickets are $5. Children 12 and under get in free.
Activities at the “Get Moving Stage” kick off at 8:45 a.m. Mini-classes are scheduled every 15-30 minutes until 2:30 p.m.
On the “healthy living stage,” a Treadstone Climbing Gym demo video will get things started around 10 a.m. Those sessions finish at 1:30 p.m. with a Q&A with a mixed martial arts trainer.
You also can participate in challenges that begin at 8 a.m. Winners may receive Fitbits, cash, running gear and more. The challenges include a push-up contest, obstacle course, burpee challenge and more.
“We welcome everyone to attend and bring their families, there will be something for everyone to enjoy,” Douglass said.
