Motorcycle stunts, skateboard competition at Transportation Playground
Exotic cars will be on display. Motorcycle stunts will be performed. A skateboard competition will be held. There will be a model train exhibit.
That is just some of what will be happening Saturday at the Transportation Playground event sponsored by PTAP.
"We are going to have something for everyone and it is all free," said PTAP owner Jason Gamache.
The event is a fundraiser for a privately funded playground to be built between the splash pad and zip line on Bay Avenue in Columbus.
Money will be raised for Project Playground by the sale of $10 raffle tickets.
Some of the items offered in the raffle are a flat screen television, a $250 gift certificate from Ride On Bikes, an airplane ride over Columbus, free window tinting from PTAP, rafting passes from Whitewater Express and restaurant gift certificates.
"We need something like this playground for young children in this area. There is nothing right now for them," Gamache said.
PTAP is a company offering numerous auto services including maintenance, painting, detailing and window tinting.
It sells tires as well as custom wheels and rims.
Transportation Playground will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the business, 839 Veterans Parkway. Gamache said part of Ninth Street will be shut down for the event.
"We are going to have military vehicles, a hot air balloon and horse and carriage rides," he said.
Gamache said that among the exotic cars on display will be a Ferrari 458 Italia and an Aston Martin.
Food vendors will be at the event.
