A 23-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in an Opelika shooting on North Antioch Circle, said Lee County Coroner Bill Harris.
Shaquille Jones of Opelika was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences’ medical examiner’s office in Montgomery, Ala.
An Opelika police officer was patrolling in the area of North Antioch Circle around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday when a person flagged him down and told him that someone had been shot. He found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 500 block.
No arrests have been made in connection with his death.
