A local judge Tuesday set a $10,000 bond for a Columbus man accused of molesting two girls in separate incidents here and in Colorado.
Recorder’s Court Judge Mary Buckner set that bond for Reid Earl Holcomb, 38, who was arrested here Friday on one count of child molestation.
Columbus police said they were acting on information from investigators in Frisco, Colo., who were investigating a similar case involving Reid. A Columbus police report said the incident reported here happened near Weems Road between Dec. 17 and Dec. 21.
According to court records and Holcomb’s attorney John Martin, the suspect is accused of groping an 11-year-old girl here, and fondling a 16-year-old girl in a motel in Frisco on Jan. 27.
Frisco is in Summit County, Colo. According to a Frisco police affidavit obtained by the Summit Daily News, Reid climbed into the 16-year-old’s bed at 4 a.m., rubbed her back and touched her breasts as she repeatedly said “No” to his sexual entreaties. The encounter lasted about 10 minutes, Frisco police said.
While waiving Tuesday’s preliminary hearing on behalf of his client, Martin told Buckner that Holcomb is to return to Colorado on Aug. 14 to face charges there, after which he will come back to Columbus.
