A Dothan, Ala., man died in Phenix City Friday after the motorcycle he was driving went out of control on Highway 80 and plunged onto South Railroad Street.
Richard Eugene Lee, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m. at the scene of the crash. Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said he died of blunt force trauma.
Phenix City Police Department said officers were called to a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 80 at South Railroad. The crash remains under investigation by the police department. Police didn’t indicate the direction the motorcycle was traveling before it went out of control.
