Phenix City woman left 4 children alone in Wal-Mart parking lot, police say

A 21-year-old woman was accused of leaving four children alone in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Victory Drive, authorities said.

Canesha Walker of Phenix City was charged with reckless conduct. She was placed into the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Thursday hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court.

Columbus police were called to the Wal-Mart at 3515 Victory Drive around 5 p.m. Wednesday to check on four children who were left in a vehicle alone.

The initial police report indicates that the children were left unattended around 4:54 p.m. No other details concerning the incident were released.
