A man driving a scooter was allegedly found with more than $5,000 worth of cocaine Saturday morning during a traffic stop near Winston Road, authorities said.
Quyshawn Williams, 30, faces one count each of trafficking cocaine, abandonment of a controlled substance, obstruction and driving without a helmet and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license. He was ordered held in the Muscogee County Jail without bond on the trafficking charge.
Judge Julius Hunter awarded him bonds totaling $1,575 on the other charges and bound the case over to Superior Court.
Columbus Police Cpl. Jacob Siter said he saw Williams driving a scooter without a helmet around 9:05 a.m. Saturday near Winston Road and Harbison Drive.
Siter told the court he stopped him and found 57.8 grams of cocaine ($5,780) in front of the moped. Williams allegedly had $137 in cash in his possession at the time.
Williams' driver's license was also suspended or revoked, according to police.
