An intoxicated Columbus man is accused of shooting a 33-year-old man in his right leg late Wednesday at a home on 46th Street, police said.
Carl Lewis Stuckey, 65, is charged with one count each of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and reckless conduct in the 11:30 p.m. shooting at 536 46th St. He was ordered held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling $36,000 after a hearing today in Recorder's Court.
The victim was being treated at The Medical Center where he was in stable condition. Police found the wounded man under the carport at the home.
In a report, police said Stuckey admitted to shooting the victim after he came to his home and knocked on the door. The suspect also told police he had been drinking all day and was intoxicated.

Police said Stuckey was inside the home when he fired a .22-caliber rifle at a side door, striking the victim.
