The 12th Avenue Shell gas station was robbed, and one of its employees bruised, after two armed men entered late Tuesday, according to a Columbus police report.
At about 9:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Shell gas station, at 1801 12th Ave. Employees advised them that two black men — armed with an assault rifle — had entered the business and demanded money just minutes earlier.
The suspects are described as in their late teens, between 5’04” and 5’06” and wearing dark clothes. One wore a red cloth over his face; the other, black.
In the commission of the robbery, one of the men bruised an employee’s right cheek with the rifle.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the Shell before fleeing down the alley behind the store.
Detectives and ID techs were called to the scene. The case is under investigation.
