The Columbus Police Department and Valley Crime Stoppers are seeking information from the public after a man and his dog were hit by an unknown driver on J.R. Allen Parkway, according to a press release.
At about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, the man and his dog were walking in the emergency lane on the westbound side. The exact location along J.R. Allen Parkway was not immediately available.
The driver allegedly sped off, leaving the man with a fractured lower right leg and several fractures in his foot. His dog was killed by the impact.
Anyone with information should contact the Crime Stoppers immediately. Tips can be left anonymously by phone at (706) 653-3188, or by text message through the Crime Stoppers' app. The tips can also be submitted through the Police Department's or the Muscogee County Marshal's Office's websites.
For information leading to an arrest or indictment, informants can receive up to $1,000.
