A Columbus man is accused of using his car Friday afternoon to run another driver off the roadway along South Lumpkin Road, police said.
The 36-year-old driver received a cut to his mouth after he was run off the road in the 2800 block of South Lumpkin Road about 3:39 p.m.
Police charged Chezarae Brawley, 29, with one count each of aggravated assault, aggressive driving and driving while license suspended. He is held in Muscogee County Jail for a Wednesday hearing in Recorder’s Court on the assault charge. Two traffic charges were bound over to Superior Court during a Saturday hearing.
Police said Brawley was driving a white 2009 Dodge Avenger when the victim's car was struck several times. The contact forced the victim to run off the road and strike several trees.
Brawley sustained injuries to his head and arms during the accident. He was treated at Midtown Medical Center before he was transported to the Muscogee County Jail.
